MILKING MACHINE TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Milking Machine Technician or in a similar mechanical or electrical role.
- Relevant experience in agricultural, dairy farm, or dairy equipment environments.
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology
- Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology
- Industrial Technology
- Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience installing, inspecting, servicing, and repairing machinery or agricultural equipment.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement appropriate repair solutions.
- Familiarity with technical manuals, equipment specifications, maintenance procedures, and testing instruments.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess a valid car driver’s license.
- Ability to provide on-site technical assistance and communicate professionally with clients.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and fault-finding skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to accurate service documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other technicians and farm personnel.
- Physically fit to perform equipment installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Install milking machines, milking systems, and related dairy equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer instructions.
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and system inspections to ensure equipment reliability and efficient operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational faults in milking machines and dairy equipment.
- Repair, replace, and adjust defective or worn components to restore equipment performance.
- Inspect vacuum systems, pumps, motors, pipelines, pulsators, and other milking system components.
- Check system performance and identify problems that may affect milking efficiency or equipment operation.
- Test equipment after installation, maintenance, or repairs to ensure it functions properly and safely.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and on-site service to dairy farm clients.
- Explain equipment problems, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations to clients when required.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and minimize operational interruptions.
- Maintain tools, testing instruments, and service equipment in good working condition.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines, technical manuals, and approved maintenance procedures.
- Ensure all installation and repair work complies with applicable industry standards and workplace safety requirements.
- Follow electrical safety procedures and equipment isolation practices when performing maintenance or repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, maintenance logs, and job documentation.
- Report recurring faults, equipment defects, and additional repair requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
- Coordinate with clients, farm personnel, suppliers, and other technicians to complete service activities efficiently.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when providing technical assistance.
- Perform other related technical and maintenance duties as assigned.
