Carpenter Automotive & Transport Limited / Boroko Motors is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to join its technical team in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in a wide range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Electrician or in a similar role is required.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical, electronic, and diagnostic systems.
• Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Install, test, and maintain automotive electrical components, including wiring, lighting, batteries, charging systems, and starter motors.
• Inspect and troubleshoot vehicle electrical circuits using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Repair or replace defective electrical parts and ensure proper system functionality.
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections on vehicles.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation.
• Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Collaborate with technicians and workshop personnel to ensure efficient service delivery.
