Pacific Racing & Sports Betting Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial transactions, reporting, compliance, and accounting operations in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting management with financial analysis and insights.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
- Bachelor’s/College Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in accounting software is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and legal requirements.
- Prepare and publish financial statements within required timelines.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and analysis for management review.
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Manage balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Monitor and report on the company’s financial performance, health, and liquidity.
- Audit financial transactions and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial data and ensure proper data security procedures.
- Perform database backups and maintain organized financial records when required.
Support internal and external audits as needed. - Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and regulatory requirements.
