Carpenter Automotive & Transport Limited / Boroko Motors is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the daily operations of its automotive workshop in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing workshop personnel, ensuring efficient vehicle servicing and repairs, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and delivering exceptional customer service while achieving operational and productivity targets.

WORKSHOP MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
• Previous experience in workshop management, service operations, or automotive workshop supervision is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance procedures, and workshop operations.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Proficient in workshop management systems and standard computer applications is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive workshop to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Supervise and lead technicians, mechanics, service advisors, and workshop support staff.
• Plan and allocate work assignments to maximize productivity and workshop efficiency.
• Monitor the quality of repair and maintenance work to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and company procedures.
• Coordinate with the parts, service, and sales departments to ensure smooth workshop operations.
• Oversee workshop scheduling, job progress, and vehicle turnaround times.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and safe operation of workshop equipment and tools.
• Monitor workshop performance, prepare operational reports, and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Foster a customer-focused environment by ensuring high-quality service and timely resolution of customer concerns.
