Welder (ARC)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an ARC (SMAW) Welder in construction, fabrication, or industrial projects.
• Skilled in welding structural steel, piping, and heavy metal components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication plans.
• Experience using welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring tools.
• Strong understanding of welding techniques, joint preparation, and weld quality standards.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Good attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of working in construction, industrial, or fabrication environments.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/ARC) on structural steel, piping, pressure vessels, and fabricated metal components.
• Read and interpret welding symbols, engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
• Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting, and aligning components.
• Select appropriate electrodes, welding parameters, and equipment based on project requirements.
• Produce high-quality welds that comply with approved welding procedures and industry standards.
• Inspect completed welds for defects and perform repairs or rework when necessary.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with fitters, fabricators, supervisors, and quality inspectors to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspection of welding equipment and tools.
• Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), quality control requirements, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate work records and report any defects or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Perform other welding and fabrication duties assigned by management.
