GLAZE PREPARATION FOREMAN
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
- Mandatory: Previous experience in a ceramic company or ceramic manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge and experience in glaze preparation.
- Ability to prepare and maintain glaze quality and consistency according to production requirements.
- Knowledge of glaze parameters such as viscosity, color, texture, and consistency.
- Ability to understand and follow glaze formulations, production programs, quality procedures, and technical instructions.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- A high school diploma, degree related to the ceramic field, or related vocational course is an advantage.
- Good understanding of ceramic manufacturing processes and glaze preparation operations.
- Ability to maintain accurate glaze and paste batch sheets and other production records.
- Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, safety requirements, and proper housekeeping practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with production, quality control, and other departments.
- Good leadership and supervisory skills appropriate for a foreman position.
- Ability to work efficiently during scheduled shifts and meet production requirements.
- Good English communication skills.
- Safety-conscious, responsible, organized, and capable of working in a ceramic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Check the availability of glaze raw materials, stains, chemicals, and other materials required for the production program.
- Coordinate with the GPS Team Leader and follow instructions regarding glaze preparation and production requirements.
- Prepare the required glaze batches for production during the assigned shift.
- Ensure that glaze preparation is completed according to approved formulations, production schedules, and quality requirements.
- Monitor glaze quality and consistency throughout the preparation process.
- Check and maintain required glaze parameters, including viscosity, color, texture, and consistency.
- Ensure raw materials and chemicals are properly measured, mixed, and prepared according to established procedures.
- Inspect glaze materials before use and report shortages, contamination, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Monitor glaze preparation processes to ensure that production quantities and quality requirements are achieved.
- Conduct or assist with required quality checks and testing of prepared glaze.
- Make appropriate adjustments to glaze preparation parameters when authorized and required to meet production specifications.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure the timely availability of glaze for scheduled production.
- Monitor the use and consumption of glaze materials to minimize waste and maintain efficient production.
- Maintain accurate glaze and paste batch sheets and other production records.
- Record batch quantities, raw materials used, test results, adjustments, and other relevant production information.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, storage, and handling of glaze materials and chemicals.
- Follow established Quality Management System (QMS) documents, procedures, and production standards.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements when handling chemicals, raw materials, mixing equipment, and production materials.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the glaze preparation area.
- Inspect assigned equipment and report equipment abnormalities, breakdowns, or maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality Control, Production, Maintenance, and other relevant departments regarding glaze preparation and quality issues.
- Investigate and report glaze quality problems, inconsistencies, or deviations from specifications.
- Assist in implementing corrective actions to maintain consistent glaze quality and production performance.
- Guide and support glaze preparation personnel in following approved procedures and safe work practices.
- Ensure production documentation and records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
- Perform other glaze preparation, ceramic production, supervisory, and related duties assigned by management.
