Hume Auto & Tyres Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Motor Mechanics to join its automotive service team in Australia. The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, maintain, and service a wide range of vehicles, with a strong focus on European vehicles requiring advanced electronic diagnostics, ECU and BCM programming, and complex mechanical repairs.

MOTOR MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic, preferably working with European vehicles.
• Strong experience in ECU and BCM programming, diagnostics, and electronic vehicle systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills for mechanical and electrical automotive systems.
• Ability to diagnose and solve vehicle problems independently.
• Experience using modern automotive diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment.
• Good understanding of engine management systems, ABS, SRS, CAN Bus, and other electronic vehicle technologies.
• IELTS or PTE passers are preferred as required for Australian employment processes.
• Good English communication skills.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and workplace safety.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain petrol and diesel vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform advanced diagnostics using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Program, configure, and replace Engine Control Units (ECU) and Body Control Modules (BCM), particularly for European vehicle brands.
• Repair and maintain engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.
• Inspect vehicles and identify faults requiring repair or replacement.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled servicing.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, sensors, wiring, lighting, and vehicle electronic control systems.
• Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation and performance.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts inventory information.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workshop quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with workshop supervisors and fellow technicians while also managing repairs independently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
