Techforce Personnel Pty. Ltd. is seeking qualified and experienced Diesel Fitters to work in the mining sector in Australia. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing diesel-powered machinery and heavy equipment used in mining, construction, and other heavy industrial environments. Candidates must have strong mechanical knowledge, practical fault-finding skills, and the ability to work safely in demanding industrial conditions.

Diesel Fitter (Mining)

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Diesel Fitter or Diesel Mechanic in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
• Relevant work experience must be verifiable through Certificates of Employment (COEs), payslips, employment contracts, DMW information sheets, where applicable, or other acceptable employment documentation.
• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent is preferred.
• Relevant qualifications such as Diesel Engine Servicing NC II/NC III, Automotive Servicing NC II/NC III, Heavy Equipment Servicing NC II, or Mechatronics Servicing NC II are an advantage.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and equipment faults effectively.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment specifications, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Competent in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong practical mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• If not a college graduate, must have a valid English test result or be willing to take an English test as soon as possible.
• Ability to work safely in mining, construction, and heavy industrial environments.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on mechanical maintenance work.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and equipment reliability.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, servicing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel-powered machinery and heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair and maintenance requirements.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures.
• Inspect diesel engines, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related components.
• Perform repairs, adjustments, replacement, and installation of defective or worn mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using appropriate diagnostic procedures.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble engines, machinery, and mechanical components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment, and precision measuring instruments safely and correctly.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
• Carry out testing after repairs to verify that machinery and equipment are operating safely and correctly.
• Identify potential equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive action.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing, component replacements, and maintenance activities.
• Follow planned maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is maintained within required service intervals.
• Assist with equipment breakdowns and respond to urgent mechanical maintenance requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures, and environmental standards.
• Properly handle mechanical components, lubricants, oils, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, operators, and other maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
• Report major mechanical defects, safety concerns, and additional repair requirements to supervisors.
• Perform other diesel fitting, mechanical maintenance, and equipment servicing duties as assigned.
