Job Vacancy: Midwife

A healthcare employer in Qatar is seeking qualified and experienced Midwives to provide professional maternity and women’s healthcare services. The successful candidate will assist women throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postnatal period while providing safe, compassionate, and quality care in accordance with established healthcare standards and applicable Qatar regulations.
Midwife
Qualifications:
- Female applicants, 25–43 years old.
- At least 2–3 years of relevant midwifery experience.
- Related certification is required.
- Relevant nursing and/or midwifery qualification.
- Must meet applicable Qatar registration and licensing requirements for the position.
- Knowledge of antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Ability to provide safe and compassionate care to mothers and newborns.
- Good clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
- Able to work effectively with doctors, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong understanding of infection control, patient safety, and healthcare protocols.
- Responsible, compassionate, reliable, and able to work in a professional healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional midwifery care to pregnant women throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- Conduct routine assessments and monitor the health and well-being of mothers and babies.
- Assist with prenatal consultations, examinations, and routine maternal health monitoring.
- Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and other relevant maternal and fetal conditions.
- Assist and provide care during labor and childbirth according to established clinical procedures.
- Support normal vaginal deliveries and provide appropriate immediate care to mothers and newborns.
- Recognize signs of complications during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period and promptly report concerns to the attending physician or healthcare team.
- Provide immediate newborn care, including assessment, monitoring, and support after delivery.
- Assist with breastfeeding education and provide guidance on newborn care and maternal recovery.
- Provide postpartum care and monitor mothers for possible complications.
- Educate patients and families regarding prenatal care, nutrition, hygiene, breastfeeding, family planning, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records, clinical notes, and delivery documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments within the scope of practice and according to authorized medical instructions.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including proper sanitation and safe handling of medical equipment.
- Prepare delivery rooms, examination areas, instruments, and supplies for procedures and childbirth.
- Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of medical equipment and supplies.
- Work closely with obstetricians, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond appropriately to maternal or neonatal emergencies and assist the medical team when required.
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and professional standards at all times.
- Comply with applicable Qatar healthcare regulations, professional standards, workplace policies, and safety procedures.
