Daeah Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Inspector to ensure mechanical installation works comply with project specifications, engineering standards, quality requirements, and approved procedures for major construction projects in Mozambique.

The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for inspecting mechanical equipment installation, witnessing testing activities, reviewing quality requirements, and coordinating with project teams to resolve inspection-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a Mechanical Inspector, QA/QC Inspector, or similar role in construction, industrial, oil and gas, power, or infrastructure projects.
• Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Mechanical) or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, valves, pumps, compressors, tanks, and rotating equipment.
• Experience in mechanical testing, inspection procedures, and quality control documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents.
• Familiarity with inspection standards, testing procedures, and construction quality requirements.
• Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Willing to work on project sites in Mozambique.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect the installation of mechanical equipment, piping, valves, pumps, compressors, tanks, rotating equipment, and related mechanical systems.
• Conduct inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project quality standards.
• Witness and inspect mechanical testing activities, including hydrostatic tests, pressure tests, equipment functional tests, and commissioning activities.
• Review inspection records, equipment documentation, material certificates, and quality reports.
• Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions with construction teams and quality control personnel.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to resolve inspection issues.
• Monitor mechanical works to ensure proper installation methods, alignment, and workmanship.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with project safety requirements and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
