MECHANICAL FITTER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar maintenance role.
- Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting and Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in cable manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills are required.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly to minimize equipment downtime.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment and machine components.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts to maintain optimal machine performance.
- Ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur.
- Perform maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out basic welding and fabrication work as required for equipment repairs and modifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment issues to supervisors.
- Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support continuous manufacturing operations.
