Interlink Shipping Line Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to ensure the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of vessel propulsion systems, marine engines, auxiliary machinery, and other mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, technical inspections, and supervising engineering activities in compliance with maritime engineering standards and safety regulations.
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the maritime or shipping industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional engineering license or relevant marine engineering certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical maintenance practices.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning, machinery overhauls, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team supervision abilities.
- Proficient in preparing maintenance reports, technical documentation, and engineering records.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective and preventive maintenance solutions.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Supervise mechanical repair, overhaul, and maintenance activities performed by engineering personnel and external contractors.
- Monitor the performance and operational efficiency of vessel machinery and recommend improvements or system upgrades.
- Conduct technical inspections to ensure all mechanical systems comply with maritime engineering standards and operational requirements.
- Coordinate machinery overhauls, repairs, and equipment servicing while ensuring minimal disruption to vessel operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, engineering logs, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate the procurement of mechanical components and engineering supplies.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to mechanics and engineering personnel.
- Respond promptly to vessel breakdowns, emergency mechanical failures, and onboard technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations, environmental requirements, company policies, and international marine engineering standards.
- Collaborate with ship management and other departments to support safe and efficient vessel operations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
