We are looking for a responsible Internal Auditor to join our client in PNG and to conduct independent and objective audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, and provides recommendations for improvements. 

Internal Auditor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification, such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
• 5+ years of experience in internal auditing or related financial roles.
• Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards, taxation and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in using audit management software and data analysis tools.
• Experience in developing and executing audit plans and evaluating internal control systems.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial documents and audit reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and industry practices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
• Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
• Obtain, analyse and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc
• Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
• Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
• Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
• Maintain open communication with management and audit committee
• Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum
• Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
• Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
