CAS Recruitment UK Limited is seeking qualified and experienced HGV Mechanics / HGV Technicians for an overseas employment opportunity in the United Kingdom.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and commercial vehicles. The role covers mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems, as well as vehicle inspections, roadworthiness checks, repairs, breakdown response, and maintenance documentation.
HGV MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
- Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Graduate of any four-year course.
- Valid Philippine Driver’s License – Code B.
- Must have UKVI IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 in each category, as specified in the job requirements.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Must have a newly renewed passport.
- Strong knowledge of HGV and commercial vehicle mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose faults using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with heavy vehicle engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrains.
- Knowledge of vehicle safety and roadworthiness requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional workshop team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic faults on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs.
- Perform engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs.
- Use appropriate diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults and determine suitable repair solutions.
- Conduct MOT and DVSA preparation inspections and help ensure vehicles meet applicable roadworthiness standards.
- Perform vehicle safety checks before returning vehicles to service.
- Carry out road tests when required to verify vehicle performance and repair effectiveness.
- Inspect vehicle components and identify worn, damaged, or defective parts.
- Replace or repair faulty components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide roadside assistance when necessary.
- Complete maintenance records, job cards, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, and company maintenance standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and work environment.
- Follow all applicable Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Assist with inventory management and report spare parts requirements to the Parts Department or Workshop Supervisor.
- Work closely with workshop personnel, supervisors, drivers, and other technical staff.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
- Perform other HGV maintenance and repair duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary starts at £ 3,206.72 gross monthly
- Forty-two (40) working hours / Five (5) days a week.
- Accommodation will be provided.
- Contract duration is for 3 years renewable
