Job Talent is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join its industrial maintenance team in Belgium. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery to ensure maximum equipment performance, reliability, and safety.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, repair, and modification.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience working on Caterpillar (CAT) equipment, cranes, wheel loaders, and other heavy machinery is highly preferred.
- Experience installing camera systems, control systems, and hydraulic attachments.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are an advantage.
- Degree, Diploma, or Technical Certification in Heavy Equipment Technology, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications on heavy equipment, including aerial work platforms, earth-moving machinery, and agricultural equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical system faults.
- Conduct inspections to identify equipment defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Service and maintain heavy machinery such as Caterpillar (CAT) equipment, cranes, wheel loaders, and similar equipment.
- Install and configure attachments including camera systems, hydraulic components, and machine control systems.
- Perform equipment testing after repairs to verify proper operation and performance.
- Carry out routine servicing, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, service instructions, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and parts inventory documentation.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication work when required.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workshop.
