Curtain Bros Papua New Guinea Ltd is seeking an experienced Fire, Safety and Security Technician to oversee fire protection systems, workplace safety, and security operations across company facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining fire and security systems, conducting inspections and emergency response activities, supporting health and safety programs, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in fire protection, safety, and security systems.
• Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Tertiary qualification or certification in Electronic Technology or a similar discipline is preferred.
• Proven experience working with wet and dry fire protection systems.
• Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Strong knowledge of fire detection systems, CCTV, alarms, emergency response, and workplace safety regulations.
• Excellent project management, time management, and organizational skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing duties that require standing, walking, inspections, and emergency response activities.
• Must be willing to work Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Saturday (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid work visa for Papua New Guinea.
• Committed to following all Curtain Bros Group Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and operate CCTV systems, fire detection systems, alarms, and other electronic security equipment.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with fire safety regulations and company fire protection procedures.
• Conduct fire safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across company facilities.
• Assist in investigating fires and other emergency incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Respond to fire emergencies by operating pumps, hoses, extinguishers, foam systems, and other firefighting equipment.
• Participate in rescue and evacuation operations during emergency situations.
• Inspect buildings and facilities to identify fire hazards and ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
• Maintain, monitor, and support the operation of site fire protection and security systems.
• Participate in emergency response drills, firefighting exercises, rescue training, and safety awareness programs.
• Assist the Safety Department in developing and implementing fire, safety, and security procedures.
• Identify workplace hazards and assist in implementing risk control measures to minimize incidents.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements.
• Train employees on personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
• Monitor property security by checking alarms, doors, windows, gates, and responding to unauthorized access or system malfunctions.
• Coordinate with emergency services, including police and fire authorities, during incidents.
• Prepare monthly reports, maintain inspection records, and monitor the performance of fire, safety, and security systems.
• Ensure compliance with Curtain Bros Group Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) policies and procedures.
