FARMER (SSW)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in farming or agricultural production.
  • No minimum educational attainment is required.
  • Must possess a JPT or JFT N4 Passer Certificate.
  • Must possess a Prometric Examination Pass Certificate for the applicable SSW category.
  • Experience in crop cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling is preferred.
  • Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Willing to learn Japanese farming methods and comply with company procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare agricultural land for planting by plowing, cultivating, leveling, and fertilizing the soil.
  • Plant, water, weed, prune, and maintain crops according to seasonal farming schedules and production plans.
  • Monitor crop health and report signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Harvest fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products at the proper stage of maturity.
  • Sort, clean, grade, package, and prepare harvested produce for storage, transport, or shipment.
  • Operate tractors, cultivators, irrigation systems, and other agricultural machinery and equipment safely.
  • Perform routine inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance of farming tools and machinery.
  • Apply fertilizers and other approved agricultural materials according to company procedures and Japanese regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fields, greenhouses, storage facilities, and work areas.
  • Follow company policies, Japanese agricultural regulations, food safety standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Work effectively with supervisors and fellow farm workers to achieve production targets.
  • Perform other farm-related duties assigned by management.
