Roblawmax Recruiting Limited is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to support construction, civil, and landscaping projects in New Zealand. The successful candidate will operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently while performing earthworks, site preparation, excavation, drainage, and landscaping activities according to project specifications and safety standards.

EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the construction industry.
• Proven experience operating excavators and loaders, with strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
• Experience working on commercial, residential, civil, and landscaping projects.
• Strong background in excavation, earthworks, trenching, drainage works, and site preparation.
• Ability to read levels and work accurately to grade.
• Efficient operator with a strong understanding of production targets and construction site requirements.
• Experience operating additional machinery such as rollers, skid steers, dumpers, or similar equipment is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of civil and construction site environments.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license: Class 1, 2, 3, and 8/CE.

Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators ranging from 1.5-tonne to 20-tonne for construction, civil, residential, commercial, and landscaping projects.
• Perform excavation works including trenching, earthworks, drainage installation, site preparation, driveways, and hard landscaping.
• Operate additional machinery such as loaders, rollers, skid steers, dumpers, and similar equipment when required.
• Read and interpret site levels, measurements, and grades to ensure accurate excavation and placement.
• Set heights and work according to project specifications, drawings, and site requirements.
• Assist with boxing up formwork and other construction-related activities.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Maintain safe and efficient machine operation while meeting production targets.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and comply with construction site regulations.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction personnel.
