Driller Helper (Surface Mining)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 yrs related experience
• At least High School graduate
• Experience with using a hydraulic diamond drill

Responsibilities:

• Assist in drilling and blasting rock at construction sites
• Assist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various drills and other surface mining machinery
• Maintains work tools and keeps the work area clean
• Handles core tubes and drill strings (setting and retrieving)
• Properly sorts drill cores into boxes
• Monitors the water line, pumps, fuel and propane levels, and supplies the drill rig
• Assists with moving and setting up the drill rig
• Assists and supports the driller to ensure smooth drilling operations
• Adheres to and implements Forage Orbit Garant’s health and safety methods and procedures
• Performs all other related tasks associated with the position

Requirements:

• Must have a valid passport for more than 3 years
• Employment certificates
• NBI clearance valid for at least 1 year with “no derogatory / no record on file” remarks
• PEOS certificate
