CONSTRUCTION WORKER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in construction, general labor, site preparation, or a related field.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Additional relevant experience in residential and commercial construction projects is an advantage.
- Experience in construction site preparation, material handling, and basic equipment operation.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and construction equipment.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor, lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors and in various construction site conditions.
- Strong understanding of basic construction site safety rules and safe work practices.
- Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under the supervision of skilled tradespeople and site supervisors.
- Hardworking, reliable, disciplined, and willing to perform physically demanding construction duties.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced construction environment and support different construction activities as required.
- Male applicants are preferred for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites for daily work by clearing debris, unwanted materials, and potential hazards.
- Assist in setting up and organizing construction work areas.
- Load, unload, move, and properly stack building materials, tools, and equipment.
- Transport construction materials safely to designated work areas.
- Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other construction workers.
- Perform general manual labor tasks as directed by supervisors or skilled workers.
- Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist with excavation, digging, leveling, grading, and other basic site preparation activities.
- Help prepare and mix construction materials such as cement, concrete, mortar, and other materials when required.
- Assist with carrying, positioning, assembling, and securing construction materials and components.
- Support construction activities for residential, commercial, and other building projects.
- Maintain clean and organized construction sites throughout the workday.
- Remove construction waste, debris, and unused materials from work areas.
- Assist with basic demolition, dismantling, and removal activities when required.
- Follow instructions regarding the proper use, storage, and handling of tools and construction materials.
- Inspect basic tools and equipment before use and report damaged or defective equipment to supervisors.
- Follow construction drawings, work instructions, measurements, and directions provided by supervisors when applicable.
- Maintain proper housekeeping to reduce workplace hazards and improve site safety.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety helmets, gloves, safety footwear, and other protective gear.
- Follow company safety policies, site rules, and occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, accidents, injuries, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
- Work cooperatively with skilled tradespeople, site supervisors, engineers, and other construction personnel.
- Assist with preparing work areas and materials for scheduled construction activities.
- Perform other general construction, site preparation, material-handling, and labor duties assigned by management.
