Icount Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to support its accounting and financial operations in Vanuatu. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Experience with Xero accounting software and previous work in an auditing firm will be an advantage.
CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT
Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree.
- Preferably 3–5 years of experience in the same position.
- Experience working in an auditing firm is an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience with Xero accounting software would be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping procedures, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial reports and accounting records.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to work with accounting and financial software.
- Good understanding of financial controls, documentation, and audit requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Must have a good command of English, both oral and written.
- Dependable, trustworthy, responsible, and committed to maintaining professional standards.
- Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality when handling financial and company information.
- Willingness to comply with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee accounting and financial activities in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review financial statements, accounting reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
- Record, classify, reconcile, and verify financial transactions and account balances.
- Perform bank, ledger, and other account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Review financial records and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and monitoring of company expenditures.
- Analyze financial information and provide relevant reports or recommendations to management.
- Ensure accounting records are properly maintained and organized for reporting and audit purposes.
- Support internal and external audit activities by preparing required schedules, records, and documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide accurate financial information and supporting documents when required.
- Apply appropriate accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls to daily financial operations.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, or potential financial issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting reports and other financial requirements.
- Utilize Xero accounting software and other relevant accounting systems for bookkeeping and financial management.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information, company records, client information, and other sensitive documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and applicable accounting requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with management, colleagues, clients, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other accounting, financial, and administrative duties as assigned by management.
