CAKE ARTIST

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Others or a similar field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Cake Artist, Cake Decorator, Pastry Decorator, or similar position.
• Strong artistic and creative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in various cake decorating and finishing techniques.
• Proven ability to create and design custom cakes based on client requirements.
• Skilled in creating high-quality fondant, buttercream, and specialty cake finishes.
• Knowledge of cake design, color coordination, decorative techniques, and presentation.
• Ability to interpret cake sketches, customer concepts, photographs, or design references.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery or pastry production environment.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple orders while meeting production deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
• Creative, patient, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Design, prepare, decorate, and finish custom cakes according to customer requirements, themes, occasions, and specifications.
• Create attractive and high-quality cake designs using fondant, buttercream, chocolate, edible decorations, and specialty finishes.
• Consult with customers or relevant staff regarding cake designs, colors, themes, sizes, flavors, and decorative requirements.
• Develop creative cake concepts and translate customer ideas into professional cake designs.
• Ensure consistency in taste, appearance, presentation, texture, and overall product quality.
• Prepare and apply icing, frosting, fondant, buttercream, fillings, piping, edible decorations, and other cake finishes.
• Use various cake decorating techniques, including piping, sculpting, molding, airbrushing, lettering, and decorative finishing.
• Produce detailed decorations and designs appropriate for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, corporate events, and other special occasions.
• Manage daily cake production schedules and ensure orders are completed within required timelines.
• Prioritize multiple cake orders and meet customer deadlines without compromising quality.
• Inspect completed cakes to ensure they meet design specifications and company quality standards.
• Make necessary adjustments or corrections to cake designs and finishes when required.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations, tools, equipment, and cake preparation areas.
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and handling procedures at all times.
• Properly store ingredients, decorations, and finished products to maintain quality and freshness.
• Monitor supplies and inform the supervisor when ingredients, decorating materials, or equipment need replenishment.
• Stay updated with current cake decorating trends, designs, techniques, and customer preferences.
• Assist in developing new cake designs, products, and decorative concepts.
• Work closely with bakers, pastry chefs, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth production.
• Perform other cake decorating and pastry-related duties assigned by management.
