Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an accounting qualification is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Accountant.
- Must be a member of the accounting profession or a recognized accounting body in the country of origin.
- Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to review financial documents, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and manage assigned responsibilities independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Ability to work effectively with management, colleagues, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and accounting documents.
- Record, review, and verify financial transactions, including income, expenses, payments, and receipts.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and periodic accounting summaries.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, and payment schedules.
- Review supporting documents to ensure transactions are properly authorized and recorded.
- Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and expense reports when required.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and potential errors.
- Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures.
- Support tax preparation, statutory reporting, and other regulatory compliance activities as assigned.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor expenditures and assist management in maintaining effective financial controls.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial records and confidential accounting documents.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant accounting software to process and analyze financial information.
- Prepare reports and communicate financial findings to management and relevant departments.
- Protect confidential financial information and follow company policies on data security.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.
