Welder Technician

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience as a Welder, Welder Technician, Welding Technician, Fabricator, or Maintenance Welder is preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing, factory, industrial, or production environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of common welding and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions.
• Ability to operate welding machines and related fabrication equipment.
• Good knowledge of metal cutting, grinding, fitting, alignment, and fabrication.
• Ability to inspect welds and identify common welding defects.
• Familiarity with welding tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing welding and fabrication duties.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow workplace procedures.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication work on metal components, equipment, machinery, and structures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate welding methods, materials, electrodes, and equipment according to job requirements.
• Set up and operate welding machines and related tools safely and correctly.
• Perform welding using appropriate techniques based on the material and required specifications.
• Inspect welded joints for defects, cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion, and other quality issues.
• Grind, cut, fit, align, and prepare metal components before and after welding.
• Repair damaged or defective metal parts and equipment through welding and fabrication.
• Assist mechanics and maintenance personnel with machinery repair and modification work.
• Conduct basic inspection and maintenance of welding machines, tools, cables, and accessories.
• Ensure welding equipment is properly maintained and safely stored.
• Use measuring tools to check dimensions, alignment, and finished work.
• Follow approved welding procedures, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized welding and fabrication work area.
• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, protective clothing, and safety footwear.
• Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, and material requirements to the supervisor.
• Perform other welding, fabrication, and maintenance duties as assigned.
