Welder (SMAW/TIG)

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Proven experience in structural steel welding and fabrication works.
• Proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding processes.
• Experience with MIG welding is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, technical drawings, fabrication plans, and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of welding procedures, materials, and quality standards.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and proper use of welding equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a construction or fabrication team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding works on steel structures including beams, columns, frames, plates, and other fabricated components.
• Read and interpret welding symbols, engineering drawings, fabrication plans, and project specifications.
• Operate SMAW, TIG, and other welding equipment safely, efficiently, and according to approved procedures.
• Prepare materials and workpieces for welding through cutting, grinding, fitting, and alignment activities.
• Ensure weld quality meets project requirements, industry standards, and safety specifications.
• Inspect completed welds for defects, dimensional accuracy, and structural integrity.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and rework of welds when necessary to achieve quality standards.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in good operating condition.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators, and other team members to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite and welding station.
• Support fabrication and construction activities as required to meet project schedules and operational goals.
