Tailor / Cut & Sew

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Tailor, Cutter, Seamstress, Dressmaker, or Cut & Sew Worker is preferred.
• Skilled in taking measurements, fabric cutting, sewing, garment assembly, and finishing.
• Knowledge of different fabrics, sewing techniques, patterns, and garment construction.
• Ability to operate industrial or domestic sewing machines and other tailoring equipment.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and cutting.
• Ability to perform garment alterations and repairs.
• Creative, organized, and able to work efficiently while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities:

• Take accurate body measurements and determine appropriate garment sizes and dimensions.
• Read and interpret garment patterns, measurements, and sewing instructions.
• Cut fabrics accurately according to patterns, measurements, and garment designs.
• Operate sewing machines and use appropriate hand-sewing techniques.
• Assemble and stitch garment pieces to produce properly fitted clothing.
• Perform alterations, repairs, hemming, resizing, and adjustments as required.
• Inspect finished garments for proper stitching, measurements, fit, and overall quality.
• Handle different types of fabrics and select appropriate sewing techniques and equipment.
• Make adjustments to patterns and garments to achieve the required fit and appearance.
• Maintain sewing machines, cutting tools, and other tailoring equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Complete garments according to required quality standards and production schedules.
