DESCON Engineering is seeking experienced Scaffolders to support construction, maintenance, shutdown, and turnaround projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, and Heavy Industry sectors. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least a High School Graduate.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Heavy Industry is mandatory.
• Proven experience in scaffold erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling for industrial projects.
• Knowledge of scaffold design principles, load calculations, weight limitations, scaffold types, fall protection systems, tie-offs, bracing, and support requirements.
• Familiarity with international scaffolding safety standards and safe work practices.
• Ability to read scaffold drawings, work instructions, and site plans.
• Physically fit and capable of working at heights and in demanding industrial environments.
• Strong awareness of occupational health and safety procedures.
• Good communication skills in English or Arabic.
• Able to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Erect, modify, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding systems for construction, maintenance, and industrial projects.
• Plan and prepare scaffold layouts based on engineering drawings, work requirements, and site conditions.
• Assist in the design and pre-planning of scaffolds, considering load capacities, scaffold types, tie-offs, supports, access points, and fall protection requirements.
• Install scaffold foundations, base plates, standards, ledgers, transoms, braces, platforms, guardrails, and toe boards.
• Ensure scaffolds are erected in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of scaffolding structures to verify stability, structural integrity, and safe working conditions.
• Identify and report damaged or defective scaffold components and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, safety officers, and other construction personnel to ensure safe scaffold access for all trades.
• Follow permit-to-work systems, company safety procedures, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Maintain scaffolding tools, equipment, and materials in good condition.
• Keep work areas organized and free from hazards to promote a safe working environment.
• Participate in shutdown, maintenance, and turnaround activities as required.
