ROOFER / ROOF TILER

Qualifications:

• Open to skilled Filipino tradespeople with relevant roofing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a Roofer or Roof Tiler.
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, waterproofing techniques, insulation, and roofing installation procedures.
• Proven experience installing roof tiles, shingles, and metal roofing systems.
• Ability to accurately measure, cut, align, and install roofing materials according to project specifications.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, templates, and project specifications.
• Proven ability to complete roofing projects with minimal supervision.
• Experienced in using standard roofing tools and equipment, including tile cutters, nail guns, and levelling equipment.
• Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures, particularly for working at heights.
• Good English communication skills for workplace safety, instructions, and coordination with supervisors and other trades.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• Relevant trade certification, vocational training, or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Valid passport and willingness to provide required visa and employment documentation, including police clearance, employment records, educational certificates, and other supporting documents as required.

Responsibilities:

• Install roof tiles, shingles, and metal roofing systems according to construction plans, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
• Measure roofing areas and accurately calculate the required materials for each project.
• Cut and prepare roof tiles, sheets, shingles, and other roofing materials for precise fitting and alignment.
• Install roofing components, ensuring proper positioning, alignment, fastening, and finishing.
• Lay waterproof membranes, insulation, and other protective roofing materials to help prevent leaks, moisture penetration, and weather damage.
• Inspect existing roofs to identify damaged, deteriorated, or defective roofing materials.
• Repair or replace broken, damaged, or missing roof tiles and other roofing components.
• Conduct roof maintenance inspections and recommend appropriate repair or maintenance work.
• Interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and measurements before and during roofing work.
• Use roofing tools and equipment safely and efficiently, including tile cutters, nail guns, levelling equipment, hand tools, and other specialised equipment.
• Work safely at heights using harnesses, scaffolding, ladders, and appropriate fall-protection equipment.
• Follow Australian workplace health and safety requirements and construction site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with builders, site supervisors, contractors, and other trades to ensure roofing work is completed correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a safe and organised condition.
• Identify roofing installation problems and implement appropriate solutions while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Complete assigned roofing projects within required schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
