The Regions Immigration Law Limited is associated with a job opportunity for a Dairy Farm Assistant in New Zealand. The successful candidate will assist with daily dairy farm operations, including feeding livestock, milking, animal health monitoring, farm hygiene, and routine maintenance of farm facilities and equipment.
DAIRY FARM ASSISTANT
Qualifications:
- Must have at least two (2) years of relevant, verifiable work experience.
- Must have good to excellent English communication skills.
- Must take an approved English language test, such as PTE or IELTS, as required.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Must be willing and able to perform daily dairy farm duties under supervision.
- Must have a newly renewed passport, as specified in the vacancy details.
- Must be prepared to provide employment records and other documents to verify relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the dairy farm, including feeding, milking, animal health, effluent management, and general repairs and maintenance.
- Feed livestock according to the farm’s feeding schedule and instructions.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining break fences for pasture management.
- Carry out milking procedures and apply teat spray in accordance with farm practices.
- Hose down and clean yards and the milking bail area after milking.
- Clean and maintain the farm dairy, milking plant, and equipment according to the farm manager’s instructions and the Farm System Manual.
- Observe livestock for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized farm environment.
- Perform routine farm maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Follow farm safety procedures, animal welfare practices, and instructions from the farm manager or supervisor.
