Quality Health And Safety Environment Lead

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Meat Science, Veterinary Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Engineering, or related field.
• Previous experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining internationally accepted quality standards.
• Experience in audits and standards such as BRCGS, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001. Lead auditor certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a related role, with at least 3 years at a senior position in Quality within the food industry (experience in meat/poultry sector is a plus).
• Proven track record in quality system management, audit coordination, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain quality system documentation, SOPs, and conduct periodical reviews.
• Define quality assurance standards for raw materials, packaging, and all products.
• Drive implementation of quality initiatives across plants, ensuring standardization and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct internal audits and maintain a centralized Quality Assurance database.
• Oversee compliance with ISO systems, Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 22000, HACCP), and Safety, Health & Environment Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Implement periodic auditing systems for suppliers, review evaluation reports, and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide technical support to sourcing teams, plant-level Quality Control units, and production teams to resolve quality issues.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and ensure high-quality output.
• Drive continuous improvement culture and facilitate communication on quality issues across departments.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and company standards across operations.
  • Coordinate and participate in external audits, 2nd/3rd party inspections, and regulatory compliance checks.
  • Train and mentor employees on HSE practices and awareness programs.
  • Monitor HSE KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment, PPE, and environmental controls.
• Team Leadership & Training:
  • Supervise activities and performance of subordinates, ensuring efficient workflow consistent with SOPs.
  • Allocate work to team members, provide guidance, and monitor technical capability.
  • Plan and coordinate training programs to ensure team members are qualified to meet quality and safety standards.
