Peloton Workready Pty. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Product Designer (Windows & Doors) to design and develop innovative window and door systems from concept through production. The successful candidate will create detailed engineering designs, optimize products for manufacturing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective building products that comply with Australian industry standards.
PRODUCT DESIGNER (Windows & Doors)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product design, preferably within the windows, doors, building products, or construction industry.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for product design and engineering documentation.
- Experience designing products from concept through manufacturing and production.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, technical documentation, and product development processes.
- Experience with plastic component design, extrusion profiles, tooling, and manufacturing processes is highly advantageous.
- Understanding of building codes, construction standards, and product compliance requirements.
- Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site inspections and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative window and door products from concept, prototyping, testing, and production.
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Develop product designs that optimize manufacturability, installation efficiency, durability, cost-effectiveness, and long-term performance.
- Produce prototypes and coordinate product validation, testing, and design verification activities.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, engineering standards, and industry regulations.
- Design plastic components, extrusion profiles, tooling, and related manufacturing systems where applicable.
- Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), product specifications, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and maintain accurate design revision records.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Project Managers, Production teams, and external suppliers to develop practical and commercially viable products.
- Conduct product testing, site inspections, and technical evaluations to resolve design, installation, and performance issues.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and customer implementation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, functionality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Manage multiple design projects while meeting deadlines and project objectives.
- Perform other product design and engineering duties assigned by management.
