The Russell Inn is seeking an experienced and dependable Night Duty Housekeeper to join its hospitality team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and overall appearance of guest rooms and assigned hotel areas during overnight shifts. The role requires strong attention to detail, good English communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in housekeeping or a similar role.
• Must be a graduate of a two (2)-year or four (4)-year course.
• Must have good English communication skills.
• Must be willing and able to work overnight shifts.
• Must be able to perform housekeeping duties efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and quality standards.
• Responsible, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision during night shifts.
• Good time-management and organizational skills.
• Physically capable of performing routine housekeeping duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving housekeeping equipment and supplies.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
• Able to follow instructions, workplace policies, and established hotel standards.
• Strong commitment to cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and maintaining a professional hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, public areas, and other assigned hotel facilities.
• Perform housekeeping duties efficiently during overnight shifts while maintaining established cleanliness standards.
• Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish guest room amenities and supplies.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and surfaces as required.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, sinks, and other guest room facilities.
• Inspect guest rooms and assigned areas to ensure they meet the hotel’s cleanliness and quality standards.
• Respond appropriately to housekeeping requests received during the night shift.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, missing items, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor or department.
• Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals, equipment, linens, and housekeeping supplies.
• Collect, sort, and dispose of garbage and waste according to hotel procedures.
• Restock housekeeping carts, closets, and supply areas as needed.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness in common areas and other hotel facilities during overnight operations.
• Follow proper procedures for lost and found items and report any guest belongings discovered during cleaning.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Follow hotel policies, housekeeping procedures, workplace safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
• Complete assigned housekeeping tasks and routine checks with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other hotel staff regarding guest needs, maintenance concerns, and overnight activities.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for guests and hotel property at all times.
