Abaja Contracting Company is seeking experienced Mechanics (Heavy/Light/Hydraulic) to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of light vehicles, heavy equipment, and hydraulic systems used in construction and industrial operations. The successful candidates will ensure that all vehicles and machinery remain safe, reliable, and operational while complying with company quality and safety standards.

MECHANIC (Heavy/Light/Hydraulic)

Qualifications:

• TESDA NC II Technical Certificate in Auto Mechanics or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in light and heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems.
• Experience servicing construction equipment and commercial vehicles is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and field environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on light and heavy vehicles, including pickups, boom trucks, basket trucks, dump trucks, cranes, and backhoe loaders.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
• Repair and overhaul diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrains, and hydraulic components.
• Replace worn or defective parts such as filters, belts, hoses, bearings, tires, seals, pumps, and hydraulic cylinders.
• Perform routine servicing, lubrication, fluid replacement, and equipment inspections according to maintenance schedules.
• Use diagnostic scanners, testing equipment, and workshop tools to identify mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Conduct post-repair testing to verify equipment performance and operational safety.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, service guides, hydraulic diagrams, and repair specifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, and spare parts documentation.
• Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment while following company safety procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and equipment operators regarding repair schedules and maintenance requirements.
• Perform other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by management.
