Mechanic Assistant

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanic Assistant or similar technical role.
• Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Mechanical Technology or a related technical field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Hands-on experience with Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs) and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) is required.
• Practical experience working with Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Vertical Mast Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Telescopic Boom Lifts, Spider Lifts,
• Truck-Mounted Lifts, and Telehandlers.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in workshop and field environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs), Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), and lifting equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boom lifts, scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts, articulating boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, spider lifts, truck-mounted lifts, and telehandlers.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical and hydraulic components, including hoses, pumps, cylinders, bearings, filters, belts, and fittings.
• Conduct routine servicing such as lubrication, fluid replacement, filter changes, adjustments, and operational inspections.
• Perform functional testing after maintenance and repairs to verify safe and reliable equipment operation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment, spare parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and repair documentation accurately.
• Follow manufacturer recommendations, company procedures, and workplace health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with senior mechanics and supervisors to complete repairs efficiently and minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform other mechanical maintenance duties assigned by management.
