Assistant Electrician

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Electrician or similar technical role.
  • Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Electrical Technology or a related technical field.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this role.
  • Relevant experience working with Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs) and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs/Manlifts) is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience servicing equipment from brands such as JLG, Haulotte, Genie, Palazzani, Comet, Sinoboom, Bobcat, and similar manufacturers.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights and in industrial environments.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in aerial work platforms (AWPs), mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), and manlifts.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical wiring, control panels, batteries, motors, sensors, switches, and safety devices.
  • Assist in repairing and replacing defective electrical and electronic components.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation.
  • Conduct functional testing after repairs to verify equipment performance and operational safety.
  • Maintain workshop tools, testing instruments, spare parts, and service equipment in good working condition.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and repair documentation accurately.
  • Follow company safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and electrical safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with senior technicians and supervisors to complete maintenance activities efficiently.
  • Perform other technical and maintenance duties assigned by management.
