NMDC Group is seeking experienced Chargehand Mechanics to support offshore construction and marine operations in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidates will supervise maintenance activities, troubleshoot mechanical systems, and ensure the reliable operation of heavy equipment and marine machinery while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
CHARGEHAND MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience as a Chargehand Mechanic or similar supervisory role.
- Extensive experience in offshore construction and marine operations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Heavy equipment maintenance
- Marine machinery
- Hydraulic systems
- Diesel engines (CAT, Cummins, Wärtsilä)
- Pumps and anchor winches
- Cranes and pipelaying equipment
- Diesel and electrical compressors
- Proven ability to supervise maintenance teams and manage repair activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of working in offshore environments.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities for offshore construction and marine equipment.
- Lead and guide mechanics during repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance operations.
- Maintain and troubleshoot heavy equipment, marine machinery, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including CAT, Cummins, and Wärtsilä engines.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain pumps, anchor winches, cranes, pipelaying equipment, and compressors.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repair solutions.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other departments to support operational requirements.
- Follow offshore safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the employer.
