Irrigation Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a similar role.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Others or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with irrigation systems, agricultural water systems, pumps, valves, filters, and sprinkler systems.
- Basic farming knowledge and agricultural work experience.
- Preferably with previous GCC farm experience.
- Ability to diagnose and repair irrigation system problems efficiently.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Install, set up, align, and test irrigation system components including mainline pipes, pumps, valves, filters, and sprinkler heads.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure efficient operation.
- Inspect irrigation systems regularly for leaks, pressure drops, clogged lines, or damaged components.
- Repair damaged pipelines, clean spray nozzles, and rebuild or replace faulty pumps and valves.
- Monitor water flow and irrigation schedules to support proper crop hydration and farm operations.
- Troubleshoot irrigation system malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
- Assist in maintaining agricultural areas and support basic farming activities when required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and operational standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records properly.
