Osman Gazi Project is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician (Telecom) for an overseas employment opportunity in Turkey. The successful candidate will support telecommunications and instrumentation maintenance activities in an Oil & Gas project, including equipment inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and maintenance management system documentation.
Instrument Technician (Telecom)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience.
- Proven experience as an Instrument Technician, Telecom Technician, or related technical position.
- Experience in telecom and instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Knowledge of maintenance practices within Oil & Gas or industrial environments.
- Experience using SAP, Maximo, or similar CMMS platforms.
- Ability to diagnose technical faults and perform corrective maintenance.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.
- Strong commitment to HSE standards and safe working practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of telecommunication and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults affecting telecom and instrument systems.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to approved schedules and procedures.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential failures or performance issues.
- Use appropriate testing instruments and diagnostic equipment to locate faults.
- Maintain and troubleshoot communication and control-related equipment and systems.
- Record maintenance activities, equipment conditions, faults, repairs, and spare parts requirements in the CMMS.
- Use SAP, Maximo, or similar computerized maintenance management systems for work orders and maintenance records.
- Assist with equipment commissioning, testing, and functional checks when required.
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, operations personnel, and other project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Follow approved maintenance procedures, technical specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work areas in good condition.
- Report equipment abnormalities, safety concerns, and technical problems to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in emergency response, shutdown, or other maintenance activities when required.
- Support continuous improvement of equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
