OAK Offshore is seeking an experienced Formworker for an overseas employment opportunity in Tuvalu. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, adjusting, and dismantling various types of formwork for concrete structures, ensuring that formwork is strong, accurate, stable, and capable of safely withstanding concrete pouring loads.

FORMWORKER

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Vocational Graduate.
• Minimum 4–5 years of formwork experience.
• Proven ability to construct and install formwork for concrete structures.
• Skilled in building formwork capable of safely withstanding concrete pouring loads.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Good understanding of concrete placement procedures and formwork requirements.
• Knowledge of formwork safety, bracing, support, alignment, leveling, and dismantling procedures.
• Experience in marine, civil, dredging, or reclamation projects is an advantage.
• Ability to safely install, adjust, modify, and dismantle formwork.
• Skilled in using carpentry and formwork tools and equipment.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding outdoor construction work.
• Able to work in challenging weather and site conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• English proficiency is required.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Construct and install different types of formwork and shuttering systems for concrete structures.
• Build formwork strong enough to withstand concrete pouring and associated loads.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, specifications, and work instructions.
• Measure, cut, assemble, align, level, and secure formwork components according to project requirements.
• Check formwork dimensions, alignment, levels, and positioning before concrete placement.
• Make necessary adjustments to ensure formwork meets required specifications and tolerances.
• Safely dismantle formwork after concrete has reached the required strength.
• Reuse, clean, maintain, and properly store formwork materials and equipment when required.
• Assist with concrete placement activities and coordinate formwork operations with concreters and other construction workers.
• Ensure formwork is properly braced, supported, secured, and prepared before concrete pouring.
• Inspect formwork for defects, weaknesses, movement, or other potential safety issues.
• Perform repairs and modifications to formwork when necessary.
• Use carpentry hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other construction tools safely.
• Work efficiently on marine, civil, dredging, reclamation, and other construction projects.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow established formwork installation and dismantling procedures.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and use appropriate PPE.
• Report unsafe conditions, defective materials, or structural concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, productivity, and safety.
• Perform other formwork and construction duties as assigned.
