OAK Offshore is seeking an experienced Concreter for an overseas employment opportunity in Tuvalu. The successful candidate will be responsible for placing, leveling, screeding, floating, and finishing concrete to specified standards, while maintaining high levels of workmanship, productivity, and site safety.
CONCRETER
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Vocational Graduate.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Concreter or in a similar concrete construction role.
- Proven experience placing, leveling, screeding, and finishing concrete.
- Skilled in achieving precise concrete levels and finishes.
- Experience operating power floats and other concrete finishing equipment.
- Ability to independently work on large concrete slabs and high-volume concrete pours.
- Strong understanding of concrete finishing techniques and construction procedures.
- Able to produce smooth, durable, and high-quality concrete finishes.
- Capable of working efficiently without the need for helpers or improvers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding construction work.
- Good understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- English proficiency is required.
Responsibilities:
- Place, spread, level, screed, and finish concrete according to project specifications.
- Independently handle large concrete slab pours from placement through final finishing.
- Screed concrete to an accuracy of approximately 1.5 mm as required.
- Operate power floats and other concrete finishing equipment to achieve smooth, durable, and high-quality surfaces.
- Monitor concrete consistency and finishing conditions throughout the pouring process.
- Perform concrete finishing work efficiently during high-volume pours.
- Ensure finished concrete surfaces meet required levels, dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, screeds, floats, and other concrete construction equipment safely and correctly.
- Identify and address surface imperfections and finishing issues during concrete placement.
- Coordinate with other construction workers and site personnel to ensure smooth concrete operations.
- Work independently and efficiently without relying on helpers or improvers for routine concreting tasks.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and productivity throughout the project.
- Follow approved construction methods, project specifications, and site instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all site health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report safety concerns, equipment problems, and work-related issues to the supervisor.
- Perform other concreting and construction duties as assigned.
