Pacific Heavy Industries is seeking an experienced and skilled Hydraulic Hose Fitter to join its maintenance and engineering team in the Fiji Islands. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, inspection, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic hoses and related hydraulic systems used in heavy equipment and industrial machinery. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the hydraulic industry and strong technical knowledge of hose assemblies, fittings, and hydraulic components.
Hydraulic Hose Fitter
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the hydraulic industry.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, hose assemblies, fittings, couplings, and fluid power equipment.
- Ability to identify various hydraulic hose types, fittings, and thread standards accurately.
- Skilled in operating lathe machines and performing welding and basic fabrication work.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic equipment and heavy machinery.
- Ability to read hydraulic diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and field environments.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and replace hydraulic hoses and fittings for heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose hydraulic system faults and identify damaged hoses, fittings, seals, and related components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency replacement of hydraulic hoses to minimize equipment downtime.
- Identify and match hydraulic hose types, fittings, adaptors, and thread specifications accurately.
- Operate lathe machines to fabricate or modify hydraulic components as required.
- Perform welding and fabrication work to support hydraulic repairs and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct pressure testing and inspection of hydraulic hose assemblies to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Maintain inventory of hydraulic hoses, fittings, couplings, and spare parts.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, and service documentation.
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and safe while properly using tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other hydraulic maintenance and mechanical duties assigned by management.
