COOPERANTE D.O.O. is seeking qualified and experienced Helmsmen, Greasers, and Crane Operators for shipboard work opportunities in Croatia. The successful candidates will support deck and engine-room operations, cargo handling, vessel maintenance, mooring activities, and safe operation of shipboard equipment.
Helmsman/Greaser/Crane Operator (Shipboard)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training.
- Valid Seaman’s Book.
- Must have the appropriate position-specific certification or training:
- Helmsman: Navigational Watch Rating
- Greaser: Engine-Room Watch Rating
- Crane Operator: Crawler Crane Operator
- Good knowledge of shipboard safety procedures and maritime operations.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding shipboard environment.
- Able to work effectively as part of a multicultural maritime crew.
- Responsible, disciplined, safety-conscious, and able to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine deck maintenance and assist with vessel equipment upkeep.
- Assist with cargo handling, loading, unloading, stowage, and other deck operations.
- Participate in vessel mooring and unmooring operations under the direction of senior crew.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized working environment on board.
- Operate shipboard cranes safely when assigned as a Crane Operator.
- Follow proper crane operating procedures and established load-handling requirements.
- Assist with securing and handling cargo and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of assigned tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Report equipment defects, safety hazards, and operational problems to supervisors.
- Follow vessel safety procedures, company policies, and applicable maritime regulations.
- Participate in emergency drills and follow onboard emergency procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain safe working practices.
- Assist deck officers and other crew members with assigned shipboard duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in assigned work areas.
- Perform other duties appropriate to the assigned shipboard position.
- Position-Specific Duties
Helmsman
- Assist with vessel steering and navigation-related duties as directed by the bridge team.
- Maintain proper lookout and support safe navigational watch operations.
- Follow helm orders accurately and communicate effectively with the bridge team.
Greaser
- Assist with engine-room watchkeeping and routine machinery maintenance.
- Lubricate machinery and equipment according to established maintenance schedules.
- Monitor machinery and report unusual sounds, leaks, temperatures, or other abnormalities.
- Assist engineering personnel with engine-room maintenance activities.
Crane Operator
- Operate vessel cranes safely and efficiently for cargo and equipment handling.
- Conduct basic pre-operation checks of crane equipment.
- Follow lifting plans, load limits, and safe cargo-handling procedures.
- Coordinate with deck crew and signal personnel during lifting operations.

- Valid NBI clearance (not less than 6 months before expiry)
