Carpenters Automotive and Transport Limited is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Papua New Guinea. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and adherence to safety standards.

Heavy Equipment Technician

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Vocational Diploma or technical certification in Heavy Equipment Technology, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• NC II/NC III certification or equivalent technical certification.
• Proven experience working with construction, industrial, or heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in demanding environments.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Technical expertise in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment and machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components.
• Conduct equipment testing to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and workplace safety procedures.
• Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment efficiently.
• Coordinate with operators and supervisors regarding equipment issues.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are clean and organized.
