Arabian C B & I Ltd is seeking qualified and experienced FCAW/SMAW Welders for an overseas work opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will perform welding activities for the fabrication, assembly, and erection of large industrial storage tanks used in oil and gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial projects.

FCAW/SMAW WELDER

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Tank Welder or FCAW/SMAW Welder.
• Relevant experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, tank fabrication, or heavy industrial projects.
• Skilled in SMAW and FCAW welding processes.
• Experience using E7018 electrodes for SMAW.
• Experience using E71T-1 FCAW wire with 100% CO₂.
• Able to perform welding in 2G, 3G uphill, and 4G positions.
• Experience welding plates 15 mm thickness or higher.
• Knowledge of joint preparation, including correct bevel, land, and gap dimensions.
• Ability to read and follow WPS and welding specifications.
• Strong understanding of welding quality standards and safety practices.
• Must be capable of passing trade tests for SMAW and FCAW in the required welding positions.
• Good manual dexterity, concentration, and attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding industrial welding work.
• Able to work effectively with fitters, foremen, supervisors, and other construction personnel.
• Overseas or large-scale project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform welding using SMAW (E7018) and FCAW (E71T-1 with 100% CO₂) processes.
• Weld industrial storage tank plates and components during fabrication and erection.
• Perform welding in multiple positions, including 2G, 3G uphill, and 4G.
• Weld plates with thicknesses of 15 mm or higher according to project requirements.
• Prepare and inspect joints before welding to ensure correct bevel, land, and gap dimensions.
• Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project welding requirements.
• Set up and operate welding machines and related equipment safely.
• Monitor welding parameters and maintain consistent weld quality.
• Inspect completed welds for visible defects and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Perform corrective or repair welding when required and instructed.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe operating condition.
• Coordinate closely with tank fitters, foremen, supervisors, and other welding personnel.
• Follow approved welding standards, safety procedures, and quality control requirements.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe work practices.
• Assist with tank fabrication and erection activities as required.
• Participate in required trade testing and project inspections.
• Report welding defects, equipment problems, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Perform other welding-related duties assigned by management.
