Dominion Wire & Cables Ltd. is offering an exciting overseas opportunity for skilled Electrical Technicians to join its manufacturing operations in Fiji. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about industrial automation, electrical systems, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Electrical Technician
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.
- Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and VFD systems.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 / RSLogix) and PanelView; Siemens TIA Portal is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret ladder logic, FBD, electrical schematics, and P&IDs.
- Strong background in drives, motors, and industrial automation systems.
- Competent in using electrical testing and diagnostic instruments.
- Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of cable manufacturing equipment.
- Perform installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and automation system faults.
- Work on industrial instrumentation, PID temperature control systems, and closed-loop control systems.
- Configure, tune, and back up parameters for VFDs and servo drives.
- Perform motor rewiring including DOL and Star-Delta configurations.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeter, clamp meter, megger, IR thermometer/thermal camera, and oscilloscope.
- Interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic, and functional block diagrams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
