CONVEYOR BELT SPLICER

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Rubber or Conveyor Belt Splicer.
• Must have hands-on skills in conveyor belt splicing, repair, installation, and maintenance.
• Experience with hot and cold vulcanized splicing is a strong advantage.
• Must have solid knowledge of conveyor belt components, rubber materials, belt construction, and specialized splicing tools.
• Must be able to read and understand technical specifications, measurements, work instructions, and relevant documentation.
• Must have practical knowledge of conveyor belt preparation, alignment, joining, repair, and inspection.
• Must be safety-conscious and committed to following workplace health and safety procedures.
• Must be physically capable of performing industrial conveyor belt splicing and maintenance work.
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in industrial and potentially demanding site environments.
• Experience in mining, quarrying, manufacturing, construction, materials handling, or other heavy industrial environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Perform rubber and conveyor belt splicing, installation, repair, and maintenance according to technical specifications and workplace procedures.
• Carry out hot and cold vulcanized splicing of conveyor belts when required.
• Inspect conveyor belts for wear, damage, misalignment, tears, cracks, and other defects.
• Prepare belt ends and surfaces for splicing by measuring, cutting, stripping, skiving, cleaning, and aligning materials as required.
• Operate specialized conveyor belt splicing tools, equipment, presses, and related machinery safely.
• Install and repair conveyor belt components, fasteners, joints, and other belt-related equipment.
• Ensure proper belt alignment, tension, tracking, and joint integrity after installation or repair.
• Identify damaged or worn belt components and recommend appropriate repair or replacement.
• Read and interpret technical specifications, measurements, drawings, work instructions, and belt manufacturer requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on completed splices and repairs to ensure they meet required standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to help minimize conveyor downtime.
• Maintain splicing equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety standards.
• Handle rubber, adhesives, chemicals, tools, and splicing materials safely and according to applicable procedures.
• Work closely with maintenance teams, supervisors, engineers, operators, and other tradespeople.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, job documentation, and other required reports.
• Perform other conveyor belt maintenance and splicing duties as assigned.
