CONSTRUCTION WORKER (TILE SETTER)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years work experience
• Physical stamina for lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to detail for precise measurements and layouts.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of different tile materials and installation techniques.
• Knowledge of various types of tiles and the techniques for cutting and installing them.

Responsibilities:

• Cutting and shaping tiles to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
• Lay tiles in patterns, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
• Grout and seal tiles after installation to protect against moisture and damage.
• Repair or replace damaged tiles as needed.
• Tile setters often work indoors and outdoors, depending on the project.
• They may encounter various conditions, including dust and noise.
• Interpreting blueprints and building specifications to map layout for tiles, marbles, or granite.
• Aligning tiles and straightening them with straightedges, levels, and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise.
• Mixing, applying, and spreading plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles using brush, trowel & spatula.
