CAS Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Confectioner (Factory Worker) to join a professional confectionery and food production team in Cyprus. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, shaping, decorating, and finishing confectionery and pastry products while maintaining consistent quality, proper presentation, food safety, and production standards in a factory environment.
CONFECTIONER (Factory Worker)
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of working experience in pastry making, confectionery, or a related food production role.
- Strong knowledge and practical skills in confectionery and pastry preparation.
- Competent in weighing, measuring, mixing, cooking, and shaping ingredients such as sugar, chocolate, nuts, and fruits according to recipes.
- Knowledge of decorating and finishing techniques, including glazing, garnishing, and decorating candies, cakes, pastries, and other confectionery products.
- Ability to operate and properly clean mixing machines, chocolate tempering units, ovens, and other food production equipment.
- Strong understanding of ingredient properties and the chemistry of food production, particularly sugar, chocolate, and heat application.
- Ability to monitor cooking, heating, cooling, and tempering processes to achieve the required product consistency.
- Strong attention to detail and good aesthetic skills for confectionery decoration and product presentation.
- Ability to inspect finished products and identify quality, appearance, texture, or batch-consistency issues.
- Knowledge of ingredient stock monitoring, inventory control, supply requirements, and proper ingredient storage.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production procedures accurately and consistently.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and GMP requirements and commitment to maintaining food safety and product quality.
- Good understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, contamination prevention, and safe food-handling practices.
- Creative and adaptable, with the ability to assist in developing new recipes and adapting products to current food and confectionery trends.
- Ability to work efficiently in a factory or high-volume food production environment.
- Physically capable of standing and working on foot for extended periods and handling heavy mixing equipment when required.
- Strong teamwork, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English communication skills are required.
- Must have a newly renewed passport.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of confectionery, pastries, candies, cakes, and related food products according to standardized recipes and production requirements.
- Accurately weigh, measure, mix, cook, and shape ingredients such as sugar, chocolate, nuts, fruits, and other confectionery ingredients.
- Follow established recipes and production procedures to maintain consistent taste, texture, appearance, and quality.
- Apply proper heating, cooking, cooling, tempering, and setting techniques appropriate to different confectionery products.
- Decorate and finish candies, cakes, pastries, and other confectionery products using appropriate glazing, garnishing, piping, and decorative techniques.
- Ensure finished products meet required standards for appearance, size, shape, texture, flavor, and overall presentation.
- Operate mixing machines, chocolate tempering units, ovens, and other confectionery production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machinery and production processes to ensure proper operation and consistent product output.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of production machinery, utensils, work surfaces, and assigned work areas.
- Follow established production schedules and ensure assigned batches are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor ingredient quantities and stock levels and assist in ensuring adequate supplies are available for production.
- Check incoming ingredients for quality, freshness, quantity, and suitability before use.
- Assist with inventory monitoring, supply requests, and proper storage of ingredients and finished products.
- Monitor batch consistency and inspect finished products for defects, inconsistencies, or quality concerns.
- Report production problems, equipment issues, ingredient concerns, or product-quality deviations to the supervisor.
- Apply proper portion control and production methods to minimize material waste and maintain cost efficiency.
- Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) at all times.
- Maintain strict personal hygiene and proper food-handling practices to prevent contamination.
- Ensure ingredients and finished products are properly handled, stored, labeled, and protected from contamination.
- Assist in developing and testing new recipes, confectionery products, and product variations when required.
- Keep informed of emerging confectionery and food-production trends, including products with reduced sugar, organic ingredients, and other market-oriented variations.
- Apply knowledge of ingredient properties, particularly the behavior of sugar and chocolate under different temperatures and heat conditions, during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment throughout the workday.
- Work effectively with other confectioners, pastry staff, production workers, and supervisors to maintain smooth factory operations.
- Perform other confectionery, pastry production, and factory-related duties assigned by management.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary is €979.00 gross monthly, more or less.
- Thirty-Eight (38) Work Hours/5 days per week.
- Two (2) years contract, renewable.
