CAS Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Pastry Baker (Factory Worker) to join a professional bakery and pastry production team in Cyprus. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a wide range of pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, desserts, and specialty baked goods while maintaining consistent quality, presentation, freshness, and food safety standards in a production environment.

PASTRY BAKER (Factory Worker)

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in pastry baking and decorating.
  • Proven experience decorating a variety of cakes, pastries, cookies, breads, and other baked products.
  • Strong knowledge of baking and pastry preparation techniques.
  • Ability to prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, desserts, and specialty baked goods.
  • Ability to accurately measure and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes.
  • Strong understanding of baking times, temperatures, proofing, product handling, and quality control.
  • Skilled in cake and pastry decoration, including piping, icing, glazing, finishing, and presentation techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent taste, texture, appearance, and product quality.
  • Ability to maintain proper freshness, storage, labeling, and handling of baked products and ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized pastry workstation and production area.
  • Good understanding of inventory control, ingredient storage, stock rotation, portion control, and waste reduction.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery or factory production environment.
  • Good teamwork, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Flexible and willing to assist with seasonal pastry products, new menu items, and other production requirements.
  • Excellent English communication skills are required.
  • Must have a newly renewed passport.
  • Physically fit, hardworking, reliable, and capable of performing repetitive pastry production and decorating tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, desserts, and specialty baked goods according to standardized recipes and production requirements.
  • Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients accurately to achieve consistent doughs, batters, fillings, creams, and other pastry preparations.
  • Operate ovens, mixers, proofers, and other bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor baking times, temperatures, proofing conditions, and production processes to ensure proper product quality.
  • Ensure consistency in the taste, texture, appearance, size, shape, and presentation of finished baked products.
  • Decorate cakes, pastries, cookies, and desserts according to company standards and required designs.
  • Apply appropriate decorating techniques, including piping, icing, glazing, finishing, and other pastry presentation methods.
  • Prepare daily mise en place and organize ingredients and equipment required for pastry production.
  • Ensure all baked products are properly cooled, handled, packaged, labeled, and stored to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, inconsistencies, underbaking, overbaking, improper decoration, or other quality issues.
  • Report production or product-quality concerns to the supervisor and assist with necessary corrections or rework.
  • Assist in developing new pastry products, seasonal offerings, specialty baked goods, and menu items when required.
  • Follow established production schedules and ensure pastry orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor stock levels of flour, sugar, eggs, dairy products, chocolate, decorations, fillings, packaging materials, and other baking supplies.
  • Assist with inventory monitoring and proper storage of baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Practice proper FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation to maintain ingredient freshness and minimize spoilage.
  • Minimize food waste through accurate measuring, portion control, proper storage, and efficient production practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry production area throughout the workday.
  • Clean and sanitize mixers, ovens, utensils, work surfaces, storage areas, and other bakery equipment according to established procedures.
  • Strictly follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards during all stages of pastry production.
  • Handle ingredients and finished products properly to prevent contamination and maintain food quality.
  • Work efficiently as part of the pastry and production team, especially during high-volume production periods.
  • Follow company policies, production procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Perform other bakery, pastry production, and factory-related duties assigned by management.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary is €979.00 gross monthly, more or less.
  • Thirty-Eight (38) Work Hours/5 days per week.
  • Two (2) years contract, renewable.
