OAK Offshore is seeking an experienced Carpenter for an overseas employment opportunity in Tuvalu. The successful candidate will perform carpentry, concrete formwork, and shuttering works while ensuring construction activities meet project specifications, quality standards, productivity targets, and workplace safety requirements.

CARPENTER

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Vocational Graduate.
• Minimum 4–5 years of relevant carpentry experience.
• Proven experience in concrete formwork and shuttering works.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical plans.
• Knowledge of formwork installation, alignment, leveling, and dismantling.
• Skilled in using carpentry hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and site procedures.
• Experience in marine construction or reclamation projects is an advantage.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding outdoor construction work.
• Able to work in varying weather and challenging site conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good understanding of construction site safety procedures.
• English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general carpentry work for construction and infrastructure projects.
• Construct, install, and dismantle concrete formwork and shuttering systems.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install timber, plywood, and other construction materials.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and work instructions.
• Set out and prepare formwork according to required dimensions, levels, and alignments.
• Ensure formwork is properly supported, secured, aligned, and prepared before concrete placement.
• Inspect completed formwork to ensure it meets project specifications and safety requirements.
• Modify or repair formwork when necessary to maintain proper dimensions and structural integrity.
• Use carpentry hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other construction tools safely and correctly.
• Perform cutting, drilling, fastening, fitting, and assembling of construction materials.
• Assist with concrete construction activities where required.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Work effectively with other carpenters, concreters, engineers, supervisors, and construction workers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow construction plans, site instructions, and approved work procedures.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work safely in outdoor and demanding construction environments.
• Report defective materials, unsafe conditions, and construction issues to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Perform other carpentry and construction duties as assigned.
